"Online education is fundamentally changing the way we think about teaching and learning. Faculty can no longer dust off yellowing lecture notes and learners cannot be passive bystanders. Engagement, collaboration, spirited discussion–these are the hallmarks of teaching and learning at Capella. What a pleasure it is for me to be able to work and learn in this lively environment. Capella students bring so much to the table–it's hard to say who learns more–me or you! I am totally fascinated by the art and craft of online course development and facilitation, and I give a great deal of thought to my own journey toward excellence in this field. I join so many of my Capella colleagues in feeling revitalized and transformed by the online teaching experience. This is not business as usual for either you as a learner or for us as faculty. We're all part of a fine adventure indeed!"
Janet Lessner, Faculty, School of Education

"I have really enjoyed 'meeting' learners and faculty online from all over the world, including places like Japan, Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona, Texas, The Carolinas, New York, Germany, and Kuwait. The class discussions have actually been much more professional and in-depth than discussions in most traditional classrooms I have taught in. It has been an additional pleasure to be able to eventually meet many of these people in person at our live residency programs in places like Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Virginia. It feels good to be part of a continuously expanding educational community!"
