Specialist Certificate in School Psychology

Harold Abel School of Psychology

This online specialist certificate is designed for graduates of the master's specialization in school psychology from Capella University. The master's degree specialization in school psychology and the certificate program in school psychology in combination are designed to prepare learners to apply for a license or a certificate to practice as a school psychologist.

Please note: Only graduates of Capella University's master's specialization in school psychology can apply.

Residency Requirements: Year-in-residency Part II (two residential colloquia and three weekends-in-residence) See year-in-residence details

Practicum and Internship Requirements: 350 practicum and 1,200 internship hours

Prospective Washington state students are advised to contact the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction at 1-360-725-6320 or profed@ospi.wednet.edu to determine whether this education program is approved for teacher certification or endorsements in Washington state. Additionally, teachers are advised to contact their individual school district to learn whether this program may qualify for salary advancement.
